Block 29 (#127) Ready to Move at Any Moment (page 257 & 111)
3 fabrics
A Green in picture
B Purple in picture
C Gold in picture
A (green) Four 2” squares
1 squares @ 4 3/6” cut on both diagonals QST for flying geese units method #1
Or
4 rectangles 2 X 3 ½” for geese
Or
1 square 4 ½” if you have Quilt in a Day small or mini geese ruler
1 7/8” square cut on one diagonal (small center triangles)
2 7/8” square cut on 1 diagonal (large center triangles)
B (purple) 4 squares @ 2 3/8” cut on one diagonal (HST) for geese
Or
8 squares @ 2” for geese method #2
Or
1 square @ 6” for Quilt in a Day method
C (gold) 1 15/16” X 3 5/16” rectangle
Make 4 geese:
Sew 2 B HST to each side of A QST for geese. Make 4 geese
Or
Put 2” B squares on end of A rectangle and sew on diagonal, trim. Repeat on other side. Make 4 geese
Or
Center A square right sides together on B square. Draw one diagonal. Sew ¼” on either side of drawn line. Cut on drawn line and press towards the large triangle. Put resulting “squares” right sides together with opposite colors against each other. Align the sides of the squares (you should have large geese tails hanging out!) Draw a diagonal line across seam. Sew ¼” on either side of this line. Cut apart. Fold in half and cut to sewing line (to press easier)--Press away from ‘geese’ (A) . Now trim the 4 geese using QIAD ruler or to 2” X 3 ½” (1 ½” X 3” finished) eing sure to leave ¼“ at the point!. If you haven’t done this before you can get the proper instructions at :
http://www.quiltinaday.com/freepattern/
Sew small A triangles to short ends of C rectangle. Sew large A triangles to long sides of center rectangle--trim to 3 ½” square if necessary.
Sew 2 flying geese to opposite sides of center unit.
Sew 2” squares to either side of remaining two geese. Sew these units to remaining two sides of block to make your star.
Since this was soooo late, just thought I’d give you some options (I used El’s mini geese ruler, my favorite method for making geese!)
Block 28 Fear Not (page 126 & 110) Civil War Anniversary Quitls
3 fabrics
A red in picture
B blue in picture
C cream with image in center
A 2 squares @ 2 ¾” cut both diagonals (triangles)
4 strips 1 9/16” X 3 ¼” (trim later)
B 4 squares @ 2 ½” cut on one diagonal (large HST)
1 square @ 2 ¾ cut on both diagonals
1 square @ 3 ¾” cut on both diagonals (you will only use 2 of these large quarter-square triangles, see note)--for sewing to center rectangle
1 square @ 3 ¼” cut on both diagonals (you will use only 2 of the small quarter-square triangles, see note), for sewing to center rectangle
C 2 ½” X 3” image (center image)
1. Sew 2 large B (blue) Quarter-square triangles to each of the long sides of rectangle center. Press out
2. Sew 2 small B (blue) Quarter-square triangles to each of the short sides of rectangle center. Press out
NOTE: I just used the larger size quarter-square triangles and trimmed the center down to a square.
3. Sew large B HST diagonal to each side of red strip--be sure to let ¼” hang out at same end of strip! Make 4
4. Sew A (red) triangle (diagonal side) to each side of unit in step 3, let tips hang out! Make 4
5. Sew B (blue) triangle to each side of 2 of the units from step 4 (one of the short sides, see picture)
6. Sew remaining 2 units from step 4 to opposite sides of center unit from step 2. Press out
7. Sew units from step 5 to remaining two sides. Then trim to 6 ½” with corners of block in the center of the A (red) strips.
Whew! Done! Now go read page 110! Sorry I'm so late, life got in the way!!

B (purple in pictures), triangles
C (cream in pictures), triangles
Cut :
A 1 7/8” square (center)
2 @ 2 7/8” squares, cut on 1 diagonal (large triangles on corners),
1@ 3 3/16” square cut on both diagonals (small green triangles)
B 2 squares @ 2” cut on 1 diagonal (small purple triangles)
2 @ 2 7/8” squares cut on 1 diagonal (large purple triangles)
C 3 @ 3 3/16” squares cut on both diagonals (cream triangles)
1. Sew 2 B small triangles to either side of center square. Press out, repeat for remaining two sides: Square in a Square made, trim to 2 ½”
2. Sew 2 C cream triangles to either side of unit 1. Press out and repeat with remaining two sides. Square in a square in a square. Should measure 3 1/16”.
3. Sew B large purple triangles to opposite sides of unit from step 2. Press out and repeat with remaining two sides: square-in-a-square-in-a-square-in-a-square’. Ideal measurement is 4 ¼”.
4. Take 2 C (cream triangles) and 1 A small green triangle that the long diagonal edge is along longer length (cream + green + cream). Trim this unit to 1 ½” wide (triangles are oversized as you’ll have to off-set the triangles to make it straight with ‘¼” ears above and below triangles.) Measure the length--should be around 5 ½”. Make 4
5. Sew units from step 4 above to each side of the unit in step 3, the 4 1/4” ‘square-in-a-square-in-a-square-in-a-square’.
6. Add corner triangles (large green triangles) to the corners and trim to 6 ½” .
This is similar to Block 14. I haven’t made this yet and I’ll probably cut slightly larger triangles (3” for 2 7/8” and 3 ½” for 3 3/16”) and trim each step. I'll post picture of my block later. Don't forget to read letter on page 109.

Block 25 Prisoners and Casualties (#123), pg 253 & 107
Hope you are reading the letters as you follow along. This one is really heartbreaking.
Square-in-a-square style/technique
You’ll need 5 fabrics
A Center (image on point) 1 2 5/8”
B Round #1 (cream in photo) 2 squares 2 ¾” cut on one diagonal
C Round #2 (red in photo) one square 4 ¼” cut on both diagonals

E last round (brown in photo) 2 @ 3” cut on one diagonal
1. Sew B triangles to opposite sides of center square with triangles on the bottom, centered . Trim ‘ears’ and repeat on other two sides. Should measure 3 ½”, sliver trim if necessary when you remove remaining ‘ears’.
2. Sew two C triangles to opposite sides of unit from step 1. Center the triangles and sew with triangles on the bottom (helps to keep triangles from stretching) . Trim ‘ears’ and add other C triangles to remaining sides. Should measure 4 ¾”, sliver trim if necessary when you remove remaining ‘ears’.
3. Sew 2 shorter D strips (1 ¼” X 4 ¾” ) to opposite sides of unit from step 2, centering the strip. Sew remaining 2 strips to remaining sides, centering the strips (these will be shorter than the side).
4. Trim the D strips using 45 degree leaving ¼” seam allowance from the C (red) point. Repeat on all four sides. See photographs.
5. Sew E triangles to the D strips with triangles on the bottom. Square to 6 ½” if necessary.Careful, do not cut off your tips!
This would make a great Christmas quilt! (okay, I may think that since I did it in red and green.....but can't you just see center squares with Christmas fussy cuts?)

English paper piecing
Got a free paper piecing 'kit' with 3/4" hexies from Blank quilting/Paper pieces (http://www.paperpieces.com/) and have gotten hooked. Have made lots of 'flowers' and some diamonds to applique on other projects (making 28 1800s blue/brown/tan flowers to put in border of simplbe one patch quilt of same fabrics)have bought a 'kit' (table runner with axeheads/apple cores, 1" hexies and leaves) and packages of 3/4" and 1" hexies. Now I want to make the Hexagon Puzzel that I just saw on http://sarahdidit.blogspot.com/search/label/hexiePuzzle

4 fabrics
A Center, image on point, 3 ¼”
B 4 cream (in photo page 247) @ 2 ¼”, draw diagonal line on each
C 4 grey (in photo page 247) @ 2 ¼”
D Corners, 2 navy @ 3’ cut on 1 diagonal
Sides, 1 3 ½” cut on both diagonals, quarter triangles
1. With a B and a C right sides together, sew ¼” on each side of the diagonal line, cut apart, repeat with other 3 B and C squares, makes 8 HSTs at 1 7/8”
2. Looking at photo for correct placement, sew 2 of the HST together (be careful here), sew appropriate units to top right and bottom left on center image square
3. add smaller (quarter) D triangles to each side of top left and bottom right double HST units, add to center square (see picture)
4. Sew larger D triangles to double HST units and square block to 6 ½
I actually used 3 ½” (since I just cut a 3 ½” strip) for all the navy squares, including the corner ones, and trimmed down after sewing to block, but 3” should be enough.

Have the Blues Sometimes, Block 16, Civil War Letter Quilt
Block 16 (# 114, page 244 from Civil War Anniversay by Rosemary Youngs)
Here we go again. The best way to make this is by paper pieceing.
Given that:
4 colors
Cream: 2 5/8" square
Cheddar: cut strips 7/8" X 2 3/4", you'll need 12
2 @ 2 1/4" square cut on 1 diagonal
Indigo: cut strips 7/8" X 3 14", you'll need 12
2 @ 2 1/4" square cut on 1 diagonal
Grey:
Round 1: 2 @ 1 1/2" square cut on 1 diagonal
Round 2: 2 @ 1 7/8" square cut on 1 diagonal
Round 3: 2 @ 2 3/8" square cut on 1 diagonal
Round 4: 2 @ 2 5/8" square cut on 1 diagonal
Round 5: 2 @ 2 3/4" square cut on 1 diagonal
Round 6: 2 @ 3 1/4" square cut on 1 diagonal
1. Sew Cheddar strips to opposite sides of square. Then sew indigo to other sides. Add right triangle of grey from 1 1/2" square to each corner--making sure to sew to but not past the cream point. With Cheddar strip at top, square up unit to 3 1/4"
2. Sew Cheddar strips to opposite sides of square, centering strip. Then sew indigo to other sides. Add right triangle of grey from 1 7/8" square to each corner--making sure to sew to but not past the cream point. Square up unit to 4".
3. Sew Cheddar strips to opposite sides of square, centering strip. Then sew indigo to other sides. Add right triangle of grey from 2 3/8" square to each corner--making sure to sew to but not past the cream point. Square up unit to 4 3/4".
4. Sew Cheddar strips to opposite sides of square, centering strip. Then sew indigo to other sides. Add right triangle of grey from 2 5/8" square to each corner--making sure to sew to but not past the cream point. Square up unit to 5 1/2".
5. Sew Cheddar strips to opposite sides of square, centering strip. Then sew indigo to other sides. Add right triangle of grey from 2 3/4" square to each corner--making sure to sew to but not past the cream point. Square up unit to 6 1/8
6. Sew Cheddar strips to opposite sides of square, centering strip. Then sew indigo to other sides. Add right triangle of grey from 3 1/4" square to each corner--making sure to sew to but not past the cream point. Square up unit to 6 3/4"
7. Add Cheddar and Indigo triangles made from 2 1/4" squares to each corner (Cheddar to cheddar and Indigo to indigo).
Turn block so grey is at top, square block to 6 1/2".
(now, go make a copy of the picture in the book and do some paper piecing, not just the best way--it's also the easiest!)

A Verse or Two of Poetry, Civil War Letters block 15,
Block 15, #113 p. 243, A Verse or Two of Poetry
First off let me say that the best way to make this is by paper piecing. Copy picture, cut on both diagonals to see the ¼ quarter square triangle that is 1 unit. Don’t forget to add in the ¼” on the cuter lines.
The next best way is by making templates from the picture in book, drawing the shapes and drawing ¼” seam allowance round them.
That said, for any die-hards out there, here’s rotary cutting instructions. I’ll even post my block (before I fixed it) that’s a bit wonky so you can see what you’re up against!
3 colors, A (red), B (yellow tan). C (cream)
A (red in photo) --Cut 4 squares 2 ¾” and 4 rectangles 2 1/8” X 4 3/8”
B (yellow tan) 1 3/8” strip at least 26” long, cut 2
C (cream) 1 3/8” by at least 26” long, cut 2
1. place red square ‘on point’, measure done 1 3/8” from the top point on each side and make a mark. Cut from the mark to the bottom point on each side=1 kite shape, make 4
2. Sew the A and B strips together along long edge. Press seam open. Sub-cut into 2 1/8” X 3 ¼” rectangles. Placing yellow tan on the right side/cream on left cut from outside top corner points to center seam at the bottom on both sides. Repeat 7 more times.
3. Take red rectangles and put wrong sides together in pairs. Keep in pairs. Cut diagonally from upper left to lower right making mirror image triangles. Place triangle with short edge running across the top. Measure 1 ¼” down diagonal from top and make a dot. Measure 3/8” from right angle (where long straight leg meets short leg) towards the diagonal cut and make dot. Cut from dot to dot. Make 8 total ‘half-kites’.
Sew a yellow tan/cream triangle to each side of kite shape from step 1, extending the triangle shape above kite by about ¼”. Then sew red ‘half kite’ to each side of kite-triangles. Make 4. Sew 2 together matching kite/triangle and half-kite seams (picture is before I re-sewed to fix this--I didn’t pin to start with! LOL). Sew these 2 units together so that all the ‘kite’ shapes meet in the center, and triangles too--
Congrats if you get thru this one, it is not easy!!

Grandmother's Choice, new BOW
Barbara Brackman's newest freebie. She'll be posting a new block every Saturday (see button to the right) This will be 49 blocks with the theme of The Fight for Women's Rights: suffragists on both sides of the pond, and Austrailia too!
http://grandmotherschoice.blogspot.com/
She's including the number from Block Base so you can easily make them 4" or 12", etc if you want with No Math! (I bought Block Base last week, what the heck--of course, Like EQ 7, it's not actually opened yet.......never did open EQ5) I'm doing 8" and will be using poison green, chrome yellow, chrome orange, other assorted greens and cheddars with shirtings, I think....we'll see if I have enough to get through the year! there will be 49 blocks.
Here's #1 Grandmother's Choice (of course!)

Block 14, A Pleasant Trip (#112, page 242)
3 colors:
A light: (center) 2 ½” square
B medium, total 4 2 ½“ squares cut on one diagonal:
2 @ 2 ½” square cut on 1 diagonal for center square in a square and
4 @ 2 ½” squares cut on one diagonal for the ‘border’
C dark 4 @ 3” square cut on 1 diagonal and 2 @ 2 ½ “ square cut on one diagonal
1. Sew medium triangles to each side of the light square, centering diagonal on opposite sides, press out and repeat on other two sides. Trim resulting ‘square in a square’ to 3 3/8”.
2. Repeat step 1 with the dark triangles from 3” squares for a ‘square-in-a-square-in-a-square’, trim to 4 ½”
3. Take 2 medium triangles and 1 dark triangle from 2 ½’” squares and sew along short sides so that the long diagonal edge is along longer length (med + dark + medium). Trim this unit to 1 ½” wide (triangles are oversized as you’ll have to off-set the triangles to make it straight with ‘¼” ears above and below triangles.) Didn’t measure the length--should be around 5 ½”
4. Sew units from step 3 above to each side of the unit in step two, the 4 ½” ‘square-in-a-square-in-a-square’.
5. Add corner triangles (from 3” dark squares) to the corners and trim to 6 ½”.
Here's mine:

Despair Not, Block 13 for Civil War Letter Quilt
Block 13, Despair Not (#111), page 241 (and 96) of Civil War Anniversary Quilt by Rosemary Youngs
This block requires 6 Flying geese for sides and a ‘square in square’ for the center.
Cut 3 fabrics plus an fussy cut image for center: 2 darks, 1 light
Center
Image ‘on point’ @ 3 ½” square
First dark: 2” squares, cut 4 (for center square in a square), draw diagonal line on wrong side
Geese
Second dark
2” X 3 ½ “ rectangle, cut 2
2” squares, cut 8
Light fabric
2” X 3 ½” rectangle, cut 4
2” squares, cut 4
Center
Place 2” (first dark) square on corner of 3 ½” image, sew along diagonal line, trim ¼” from stitching towards corner, press our. Repeat for all corners.
Sides (Flying geese)
Place 2” dark square on side of 2” X 3 ½“ light rectangle and sew along diagonal line, trim ¼” from stitching towards corner, press towards triangle. Repeat for other side of rectangle. Make 2
Place 2” light square on side of 2” X 3 ½“ dark rectangle and sew along diagonal line, trim ¼” from stitching towards corner, press towards triangle. Repeat for other side of rectangle. Make 4
You can make 12 HST rather than geese if you prefer:
Make them from 2 3/8” squares (6 dark and 6 light), sew ¼” on either side of diagonal drawn on wrong side of light, cut along diagonal (or cut all on diagonals and sew a light triangle to a dark triangle) or for ease of cutting and making them perfect: use 2 ½” squares, sew on either side of diagonal, cut on diagonals, press and trim to 2“).
Use Quilt in a Day ‘Small Flying Geese Ruler’ (finished 1½” X 3” geese). Make 4 Geese using 6” square of light and 4 ½” square of dark and 4 Geese with 6” square of dark and 4 ½” of light (you’ll discard 2 of the geese).
Center 4 ½” square on top of 6” square with right sides together, draw diagonal line and sew ¼” from line on both sides. Cut on line and press towards the large triangle. Place resulting squares right sides together matching edges with dark-light opposite each other, draw diagonal line and sew ¼” on either side. Cut on line and press so that ‘geese’ are flat. Trim with ruler to 2” X 3 ½” ‘geese’. Repeat for other 6” and 4 ½” fabrics. See http://www.quiltinaday.com/freepattern/ if you lost instructions to ruler.

Home on Furlough (block 12 from Civil War Anniversary)
Home on Furlough, Block 12 (#110 on page 240 of Civil War Anniversay Quilts by Rosemary Youngs)
Cut:
Red 4 ½” square (cut 1)
Red 3” square (cut 1) then cut on 1 diagonal
Green 4 ½” square (cut 1)
Green 3” square (cut 1) then cut on 1 diagonal
Cream/background @ 1 5/8” X 6” (cut 4)
The pieces are over-size so block will finish at exactly 6 ½”. Sew with scant ¼”
Step 1
Layer 4 ½” red and green with right sides together. Draw both diagonals. Sew ¼” on left side of diagonal line to center (other diagonal line), turn and sew along second diagonal line to ¼” past intersecting lines in middle (approximately 6 stitches), turn and sew ¼” on right side of 1st diagonal line to end. Repeat with second diagonal line. I’ll post a picture. This makes red/green triangles oriented the same for all 4. Cut on both diagonal lines. Press to red.
Or
Cut both diagonal lines on red and green 4 ½” squares. Sew red to green on short edge being careful to always sew red to the same side of green, see photo on page 240. Press to red.
Step 2
Sew cream strip to long edge of red and green triangles cut from 3” squares, centering the triangles. Press towards red on red/cream and towards cream on green/cream. Trim the strips following the angle of the triangles.
Step 3
Sew triangles from step 1 to triangles from step 3 along long edge, matching centers of each. This is oversized and needs to be trimmed. I’ll post pics. Using any ruler with a 45 degree line that goes to the corner, place 45 degree along red/green corner triangle seam with small triangle at corner. Slide ruler with 45 degree on seam so the 2” is at the cream/small triangle seam and the 3 ½” is at the center diagonal line (cream/red-green triangles).
Trim right side and top. Turn block and trim to 3 ½” square.
Sew the 4 blocks together as making a 4-patch.
Okay--I know this sounds confusing but it’s very easy to make it perfect this way. Feel free to cut step 1 and step 2 into triangle units measuring 3 7/8” and then sew together, if you prefer. If you follow the pressing instructions everything 'locks' together!
Cut:
Red 4 ½” square (cut 1)
Red 3” square (cut 1) then cut on 1 diagonal

Helping with rotary cutting instructions for quilt 3 in Civil War Anniversary Quilts
Hi all,
The woman who was doing the rotary instructions for this quilt is having personal issues so I've stepped in to help. I'll be adding a block every week (possibly more) Linda had done blocks 1-8 (available at Rosemary Youngs groups:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/civilwardiaryquilt/ under files)
Here are blocks 9-11 if you want to join in.
#9, block 107 Camp for the Winter, page 237 of Civil War Anniversary Quilt by Rosemary Youngs
Cut:
A 1 ¼ X 5 cream (4)
B 1 ¼ X 5 blue (4)
C 1 ¼ X 5 red(4)
D 1 ¼ X 5 yellow/orange (4)
E 1 ¼ X 5 lavender (2)
F 2 X 5 lavender (2)
G 1 ¼ X 5 brown (2)
Use scant ¼”. Sew 2 strip sets using A, B, C, D, E, & G. Press with Best press, starch or sizing (as edge will be on bias), trim to 5” square and cut on diagonal across strips from base (lower left) of A color (cream) up to upper right (G or F color) . Save the ones with a long edge with cream (discard other or make another block)
Sew 2 strip sets using A, B, C, D, F. repeat sets above
Sew the 4 resulting triangle units together with long cream strips in middle (pinwheel style)
To save fabric:
A 1 ¼ X 5 cream (4)
B 1 ¼ X 4 blue (4)
C 1 ¼ X 3 1/4 red(4)
D 1 ¼ X 2 1/2 yellow/orange (4)
E 1 ¼ X 2 lavender (2)
F 2 X 2 lavender (2)
G 1 ¼ X 1 1/2 brown (2)
Sew strip sets as above
Trim resulting triangular block on 45 degree with 2 straight edges at 5” (or larger, you can trim block to 6 ½ after sewing together). Sew together.
Block 10, No News of Importance (#108 on page 238, Civil War Anniversary Quilt by Rosemary Youngs)Cut:
Fussy cut 4 ½” square
4 @ 2” squares of lavender
4 @ 2 ½” squares of tan, cut once on diagonal
Sew 2” lavender to two triangles of tan, trim tips making sure you have ¼” sewing allowance beyond the lavender square. Make 4
Sew the triangle blocks in step above to each side of 4 ½” center square.
Block 11, The Keys of My Heart (#109, page 239
Cut 6 red 2” squares, draw diagonal on wrong side of 2 of these
Cut 6 blue 2” squares, draw diagonal on wrong side of 2 of these
Cut 4 tan 2” X 3 1/2” rectangles
Put red square with drawn diagonal right sides together at bottom of tan rectangle, sew on diagonal line. Repeat with other red square and with blue squares, making 4. Trim ¼” from stitching line towards point to reduce bulk and press colored triangle back to right side.
Sew red square to blue square, red on top then add the rectangle unit from step 1 above on the right side with red or blue small triangle at bottom (next to blue square) with diagonal of colored triangle sloping from bottom left to midpoint of tan on right. (see photo on page 239 Civil War Anniversary Quilts by Rosemary Youngs)

Do You know about the Dresden Challenge?
I'm working on a double-pointed rainbow dresden on black--have 40 sets of 5 blades sewed, 4 of them already appliqued to background and sewed together--see pic--and another set of 4 pinned to background ready to applique. Not sure how many full circles, how many half circles (quilt sides, top and bottom) but I know I need 4 1/4 circles for the corners, LOL!
Here's link for the Challenge:

Back from El's Induction at Quilter's Hall of Fame
Here's some photos of some of El's quilts on display (now at Quilter's Hall of Fame but I took pics at Marion Library), challenge quilts made in her honor (on display) and a photo of me with El and friends at the dinner!

Beginner's Quilt Along update
Beginner's Quilt Along (it's a Mystery!)
(see button at right)
Hi all,
Pat Sloan & Michelle at Quilting Gallery Blog (http://quiltinggallery.com/2012/05/31/beginners-quilt-along-fabric-requirements-and-reliable-iron-give-away/) are hosting a Mystery Quilt a long (see link button on the side at the right)--join us. I haven't decided for sure what fabrics I'll be using but I'm leaning towards either South Sea's Essential Scrolls (I have oodles) or Northcott's Stonehenge (also oodles of these)!! I'd use Pat's Eat Your Fruits and Veggies (especially the batiks) but they are not out yet!! If you want a sneak peek at these Pat's lucious fabrics (and seriously cool pattern!) look here:

Donation to Quilter's Hall of Fame
This is in El's honor. Had to make a 24" using at least one block from one of El's patterns (free from webside, booklets or books). I chose Liberty Star from Victory Quilts, used the same fabrics I did on my Victory Quilt (which made the book!!!) Sent in with $10 and they get to keep it (I think they will be auctioned). There will be a "Vote for your favorite" with pennies..I added a pic of my Victory Quilt with El on one side and me on the other!

Phoenix Quilts
Have You Heard About Phoenix Quilts?
Julie, that amazing woman, has decided that everyone who lost a home in this year’s horrible wildfires needs a quilt. That is A LOT of quilts! That is more than 800 quilts.

My Guild, Quilter's Above the Clouds is in Woodland Park, Colorado. I know they are frantically making quilts for Colorado Springs and I'll be sending my quilts and tops there, but I'm sure some of you might want to help out here.

More Reindeer and a few odds and end
Reindeer Games is going strong. I've finished 3 'whitework' (on green or red backgrounds) and 1 of the appliques one (have another one, Prancer, ready to stitch but my eyes got tired so thought I should wait a bit! It's all the fault of doing embroidery in the low lights of my den, I think--let's blaim it on the redwork Sue quilt blocks I'm doing.....) 'Dasher' whitework on Green is below, somewhere....
These are just sew cute! There's linked button on the right-hand side--join us!
Also working on my 'Quilts From El's Kitchen' (doing 12" and 6" Sugar Cone blocks, my 'homework' for Tuesday!) Made several charity blocks and 'Quilty Auntie' blocks.
Stopped for a bit on my 1800s Turkey red 'Scrappy Square Doll Quilt', similar to the small quilt below. I was making it for a dear friend, but we lost her on the 4th. I will finish it in the near future as a tribute to Gerda, but just can't do it right now. I did make a wee mugrug today, in her memory. She was forever telling me to make more, and more and more of these little jewels!
