Taking a break from 30s to show you my new circa 1880s quilt top

Recently acquired this circa 1880s top with oodles of conversation prints!!  At least two of them were released by Judie Rothermel and several are in my 'Steel River 1885" file.  I'm not sure about the red in the quilt but it is hand-pieced.  The bricks are 2 1/2" finished and the top is queen-sized (or a very generous double)

 Judie Rothermel did this one

love the fish hooks and bobbers

Spiderweb Steel River 1885

 love the fishing weights

Judie Rothermel did the running horses

 Saturn re-done, not sure who

I'm making a quilt based on this except it will be entirely conversation prints and background will be navy blue (Joan Kessler fox-hunting print mostly) and my bricks will be 2 1/2" X 5 1/2" since I have lots of 6" squares of conversation prints.  I love this top!!

I know how proud you must be to have this quilt. I had no idea the 1880's had these types of prints. Congratulations!!
